About Whitefish, MT - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Flathead County, Montana, Whitefish is a popular tourist attraction. As of 2017, about 7,600 year-round residents called the community home. Development of this city dates back to 1904 when the Great Northern Railway was built through the area. Previously known as Stumptown because of the abundant timber found here, the name Whitefish was designated in the 1940s for nearby Whitefish Lake. Today, in addition to welcoming many tourists each year, the city hosts events for locals and visitors alike, including the Taste of Whitefish and the Huckleberry Days Art Festival.

This resort community is home to many attractions that may interest residents and visitors. Whitefish Mountain Resort is one of the best-kept secrets in American skiing, and during the summer, City Beach offers a place to cool off with a picturesque view of the mountains. Flathead National Forest provides a scenic hiking area, and it offers camping, fishing, and berry picking. Local brews are also popular here, and visitors can try one out at the Great Northern Brewing Company or the Bonsai Brewing Project. Other popular destinations in Whitefish include Sunti World Art Gallery and the Whitefish Depot.

As part of a semi-arid climate zone, weather conditions in Whitefish vary with the changing seasons. Summers here are hot and sunny, and average daily highs reach the low-80s in July and August. Whether Whitefish residents invest in a central air conditioning system or a ductless mini-split for cooling, regular maintenance is essential. Systems should be inspected routinely for signs of wear, and a licensed HVAC technician should change filters and clean coils as needed.

The autumn months cool off considerably, and snowfall in the area usually begins around October or November. Annually, the region receives about 55 inches of total snowfall, on average, and freezing temperatures are an even bigger concern for residents. Residents are wise to invest in high AFUE furnace systems, while heat pumps and boilers are also options.
